  • Well, it looks like Apple has seeded iPhone 2.0 software build 5A345, iTunes 7.7 Beta, and iPhone SDK 8 to all of it’s developers. The new version of iTunes has support for MobileMe and “Applications” in syncing.
  • Discovered in the readme file for iTunes 7.7 is a description for a new Remote application for both the iPhone and iPod touch that allows you to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home and will be a free download.
  • Apple is also now accepting applications for its App Store, launching on July 11th along with with iPhone 3G and 2.0 software update.
  • Earlier this week, Microsoft released updates for Office 2008, 2004, and a new XML converter for Office 2004 or v.X users.

OS X Snow Leopard Says Goodbye to PowerPC?

Numerous sources (Engadget, Gizmodo, Mac Rumors) are reporting that the next version of Mac OS X, Snow Leopard, will drop support for the PowerPC architecture. A screenshot from the system requirements page of the developer preview seeded to developers this week at WWDC confirms this. What we don’t know is if the change is temporary or permanent.

Reinvented Software Releases Feeder 1.5 for Mac OS X

You Control Updated for Leopard

Apple introduces 64-bit Windows Vista support in Boot Camp

Boot Camp IconMac Rumors is reporting that Apple has quietly introduced 64-bit Windows Vista support inside of Boot Camp with the the install disks of the latest Mac Pros that were introduced earlier this month.

“Important: You must use a single full-install Windows installation disc (Service Pack 2 is required for Windows XP installations). Do not use an upgrade version of Windows and do not install an earlier version of Windows XP and attempt to update it later to SP2 or later. Use only 32-bit versions of Windows. If you have a Mac Pro introduced in late 2007 or later, you can use a 64-bit version of Windows Vista.”

Cocktail 4.0.2 (Leopard Edition) has been released

Apple Adds Missing Apps to iPod Touch

Apple announced five new apps will be making their way to the iPod Touch, for a price. Customers can purchase a new January Software Upgrade for $19.99. It includes the Mail, Maps, Weather, Stocks, and Notes that were previously only available on the iPhone. It also includes the Web clips feature added to the iPhone. The upgrade is purchased and installed through iTunes.
