Three More Skin Cases for the iPhone

Good: DLO Jam Jacket
We had previously reviewed this case, so here’s a summary of what we liked about it: the headphone management is unique to this case, but only works perfectly with the headset included with the iPhone. Combined with this unique feature, it has excellent protection but it is a bit thin compared to other skin cases. | $24.99 www.dlo.com

Better: Marware SportGrip
The SportGrip from Marware is the second best protecting skin-type case for the iPhone. It is much thicker than other cases and the most comfortable in your hands. It is also the cheapest at $14.95 and is available in black, blue, pink, and clear. On the back of the skin is a contoured design that offers an extra “hump” of silicone on the back for both comfort and protection. Headphone access is not restricted, but the front of the iPhone isn’t very protected. | $14.95 www.marware.com

Best: iSkin Revo
This is by far our favorite of the skin-type cases available for the iPhone, it offers several nice features including: a privacy filter to keep prying eyes out, anti-microbial protection to eliminate germs, a textured grip to prevent slipping, and lastly a plastic visor to protect the screen while not in use. What we loved was the multiple colors that the Revo is available in, but what we didn’t like was that the visor sometimes got in the way of answering a call as you have to take it off to use the screen and answer the call. The privacy film was also a plus and worked great to keep others from looking at your screen and the grip prevented the iPhone from slipping out of your hand. Just like the Jam Jacket though, it was a bit thin, but it offered the best protection. | $39.99 www.iskin.com

Case Review: DLO HipCase for iPhone

DLO HipCase for iPhone

The HipCase from DLO is a horizontal-style leather case for the iPhone designed to be clipped onto a belt clip for quick and easy access to the iPhone.

On the front of the case is a leather flap decorated with a simple embossed DLO logo. The flap is secured by Velcro, and on the inside is camel-colored leather with light brown stitching. Flip it around and on the back is a non-removable belt clip for attaching the case to a belt horizontally. Continue reading…
